At Uppa Club, we believe that Food is Life.
It impacts the way that we feel and the world that we live in. Wondrous food doesn't just feed us nutritionally, but socially too. Food brings us together...which is kind of magic. We think about food a lot...what our next meal looks like, how we're going to cook it, where it comes from and how it'll make us feel...

...but sadly all is not well in the world of food

Planted. Watered. Harvested. All to go to waste?

We didn't like the sound of that.

That's bad for 🌍 bad for πŸ‘¨πŸΎβ€πŸŒΎ πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸŒΎ and bad for us.

That's when we discovered food upcycling

The idea that instead of letting perfectly good food go to waste - we save it, and bring it back better. This thought led us to explore the food system to see where produce can be saved.

Kenya

Our research took Mily, our founder, to the rural farms in Kenya. It was here that she spoke to farmers and saw first-hand how perfectly good food was going uneaten.

With the perfect climate and levels of rainfall in Kenya means avos grow in abundance.

There are many many reasons why produce goes uneaten, and it's rarely because of its quality. It's far more likely that it's there's simply a surplus of product or the the produce gets rejected for export for looking a being too big, too small or a little wonky...

...it seems fruit & veg have harsh beauty standards too.

If you can find a solution for surplus avocados, that would be great... we're feeding them to the dogs!

PATRICK, KENYAN SUPPLIER

Our mission was obvious:

Bring upcycled foods into our everyday.

We can make a difference
With the food choices we make
Without compromising on taste, quality or function

Let’s stop calling it waste.

Let’s call it what it is:

Farmers, Producers & Manufacturers!

If you have food that needs saving, we'd love to hear from you. Who know's, maybe your produce could be the next Uppa Club product. Let's chat and see if we can work together to make a difference.
